- Slow burn. Zombie population starts light (0.8×) and peaks around day 28 (1.2×), then holds.
- Cleared stays cleared. No respawns — but zombies migrate, so nowhere is truly safe forever.
- Scavenge to survive. No loot respawn, rare loot. You'll range farther as the weeks pass.
- Death is permanent. Full skill loss on death — play careful, plan escapes.
- Second chances at home. Safehouse respawning is on; sleep is allowed, not required.
- The clock only ticks when you're there. The world pauses while no one is online.
- The lights go out. Water and power fail at some random point in the first month.

- Get the join password from the host.
- In Project Zomboid: Join → Favorites → Add, enter
zomboid.ihnmims.com, port 16261, and the password.
- Connect, pick a spawn, and try to last more than a week.
